May 27, 2006 - Emma "Janine" Lee - KE5JAJ passed her element 2 exam as well. Congratulations.

May 31, 2006 - We have had a name change, The State of Louisiana does not allow the word Parish to be used in the name of a non-profit organization. With that said, we have dropped Parish from our name. We have received our Tax ID Number and have applied for our club call. Tomorrow we will file our Articles of Incorporation with the state.

June 6, 2006 at 7:00 PM in the board room at Winn Parish Medical Center we will have an organizational meeting. Any local ham interested in joining the club is welcome to attend. Also, any non ham that would like more information is welcome to attend.

July 14-15, 2006 Amateur Radio Technician License Class. July 14th 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM. July 15th 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Lunch to be provided. Cost of course $25.00 (covers price of book). Money needs to be turned in by June 30, 2006 so I can get the books ordered. Testing fee will be $14.00 payable at the test site in Ruston on July 22nd. Contact Cory Lee for further information.

Aug. 12, 2006 - Our 2m repeater is on the air. 147.060 has been off the air for a while, but we now have a new repeater up and running.

Also, word is from W5KGT that Winnfield is about to get a 2m repeater as part of the linked North Louisiana system. This will also provide us a good link back to K5SHV at the National Weather Center.
